So tonight I decided to branch out and go a little crazy. My family loves meatloaf and I like trying new ways to make it tasty.
So tonight I'm calling this a Monster Meatloaf! Why did I pick a name such as Monster? Well monsters are generally a little scary and unpredictable much like my meatloaf. There's different seasonings in it I've never used before and a difference sauce packet I've never used before so it's a little scary! This meatloaf could come out so spicy it makes me cry or it could come out so horrible that you just have to trash it. It's all a matter of trial and error and having fun at the same time.
I absolutely love McCormick Spices as they have a seasoning for just about anything! The other day I picked up a new one on sale at Winn-Dixie called McCormick Grill Mates Steakhouse Burgers Sauce Mix-Ins Sweet Mesquite & Caramelized Onion . I also grabbed a new spice called McCormick Grill Mates Worcestershire Pub Burger.
So the grill mates say you can add it to any burger for extra flavor so I thought why not meatloaf? I love experimenting with different seasonings and spices and I also enjoy changing things up.
So here's what you'll need to create a monster meatloaf that will make your mouth say WHOA!
3 Eggland's Best Eggs
A handful of plain bread crumbs (It just varies on how thick or loose you want the meatloaf)
Meat Tenderizer Seasoning ( mine is the Aldi store brand)
McCormick Grill Mates Sweet Mesquite and Caramelized Onion Sauce Mix-Ins
McCormick Worcestershire Pub Burger Seasoning
I add everything to a bowl and mix it up really good. Of course you may need to add some more bread crumbs depending on consistency.
Then I place the meat in a large 9 by 13 glass dish and cook for about 30 minutes at 400.
Personally this was one of the best meat loaves I've ever made. The flavor combination worked out perfectly! The sweet mesquite with the caramelized onions gave it a small sweet flair but the seasoning helped give it this zest of incredible flavor! Of course we ate the entire meatloaf! Yup, silly me forgot to take a picture of my final work. I'll remember next time!
As far as some great side dishes go, I decided to make it really simple and go with Sweet Yellow Corn, A simple green bean casserole and some fresh baby red steamed potatoes.
I hope you'll consider giving it a try. I am pretty confident you will not be disappointed! As a bonus thought- you could also use the same seasonings if you wanted to make some homemade meatballs as well! I very well may have to try that out myself!
Till Next Time Folks!
