I never really realized just how horrible the "teething" phase can be. It challenges you as a parent when they are just so young. There are days where I want to pull all of my hair out and then there are those days where I feel almost completely helpless. My son finally got his two bottom teeth in right around Christmas. I remember seeing the little whites underneath the gum tissue and just being in total awe and shock all at the same time.
I guess everything about life amazes me. Every day is a new surprise and a new memory none of which I would trade for anything in this world. However, with teething you find yourself going banana's at times. I don't know about you folks but some days it seems like my kid is a dog and just wants to chew on everything (haha). The only reason I say that is because my husband and I had a beautiful Siberian Husky when we lived in Semora, NC and that dog loved to chew on anything she could get her teeth on but we loved her regardless. My son can be quite the little jokester at 11 months old. He tries to chew on my shoulder, my pants, my hair, dishtowels, shoes and well anything else he can grab. Don't worry I put everything up and always make sure that he gets the right chew toys for his teething gums. My favorite products and actually my sons favorite products have been the Nuby Brand teethers. You can view a list of my favorite items in my Amazon Store by clicking HERE. You can also see a few of my favorites here to the left for easy viewing or ordering. My mom who helps guides me along when I need help told me about these crackers she used to give me when I was in this phase and we had a difficult time trying to remember the name of them. Well after a long conversation with her and a trip to my local Target I actually found something called "Baby Mum-Mum" and it comes in several different flavors. My son is currently eating the Banana Rice Rusks and absolutely loves them! What I do love about this product is it comes in a box of 24 but they are two to a pack. It is so simple to grab a few packs and keep them in my diaper bag. They also aren't really sticky and they are long in length which makes it easier for my son to hold on to them. Don't get me wrong, we had been trying out the Gerber Crunchies and Wagon Wheels and he'd been doing okay but he didn't really seem to like them no where near as much as he does these Banana Rice Rusks. Now granted every baby is different and will like different things. It is a matter of just trying out different products and seeing what works and what doesn't. Last of all, mom's it will be okay! I have to give my son credit because I was never a patient person and my son helps me become a better parent and person every single day. Yes, there have been days where I cried, screamed and flat out didn't know what to do but hey its all apart of life! By the way the photo I created using PhotoGrid highlights my sons favorite teethers and products I absolutely have found to be a lifesaver during this phase of motherhood! As always, please consult your doctor or pediatrician before giving your child medicine. My son has done very well on Hyland's Nighttime Teething Tablets and the Tylenol and was approved by my sons pediatrician. |

Ever since my son was born I have done my best to stay ahead on diapers and formula! I absolutely love shopping at Target because you can save so much money if you put forth just a little bit of effort. This week they are offering a $25 gift card when you spend $100 or more on diapers, formula and wipes! So I bought one container of Gerber Good Start Formula for $30.99 and two boxes of Pampers Cruisers for $34.99 each bringing my total to $100.97! I had coupons for $1.50 off each box of Pampers Cruisers located in the last boxes of Pampers I bought and Gerber mailed me out some coupons so I had a $3.00 off formula coupon too! So in all reality I got 224 diapers plus 32oz of formula for roughly $70 after getting the gift card! Also on a side note- Target had a lot of baby clothes on clearance for 30-50% off as well as ladies and men's clothing too! They also had some adorable Easter outfits too!
The coupon for the gift card can be found in their weekly ad or you can text "diaper" to 827438 to receive it on your mobile phone. You can always call companies and see if they have any coupons for the products you buy! Hey the worst they can say is No! Photo courtesy of TheCampersWife created through PhotoGrid. Products bought at Target with my money and no endorsement was provided or offered. So this week I went by our local Target store and really racked up on some great deals. I have to say that Target really does run some great promotions when it comes to babies and parenthood. So I wanted to share my deal and show you just exactly what I did!
Coupons Used: 1- $3 off 2 Pampers Box or 2 bags of Pampers 1- Target Promotion Spend $125 get $20 Gift Card 1- 15% off Baby Registry Items (Been saving it for a while) 1- $10 Gift Card I got a while back for doing a diaper promotion What I bought: 2- Big Value Boxes of Pampers Diapers 1- Box of Up and Up Baby Wipes 2- Gerber Good Start Gentle Formula $34.99 x2 for the diapers and get back $15 Gift Card Wipes on sale but no gift card on those $25.99 x2 for the formula and get back $5 Gift Card $20 Gift Card for spending $125 After I used my coupons I brought my total down to $107 and some change, then I got back another $40 in Gift Cards so in all reality it made it around $67 which is an awesome deal! There are a lot of different ways you can approach the deal depending on what exactly you need but if you are like me and trying to stock up or better yet save some money this is a deal worth looking into! While I did buy two different diaper sizes I also know that the size 3 will come in handy later down the road so just remember even if you are needing a certain size and they don't have it but they have the next size up, you could always grab that and be a step ahead so to speak!
