You know living the full time life you realize that you can't stockpile like you see folks do with coupons and well just awesome sale prices so to speak. You have to pick and choose what you'd like to have bulk of. So here's a run down of my five favorite things to buy in bulk and I'll explain why too.
RV Toilet Paper-- is a must. I actually like the Scott RV and Marine Toilet Paper. It seems to be softer than most brands and you get more paper on a roll that I've noticed versus any other brands. I haven't had any issues with it clogging up my toilet system or other known problems. I actually buy it from Amazon where I get 12 packs so 48 rolls and it lasts a good 3-6 months. I know you can buy it in some retail stores but I don't like taking that chance that they may or may not have it. I'm going to say the average price per four pack is around $3.25 give or take.
Laundry Detergent--It's so frustrating having to buy a plastic jug of your favorite detergent that'll handle about 28 loads every month so when Costco runs it on sale I just pick up one of the large containers of their brand which carries on average about 120 of the "pacs" and it lasts a lot longer. Since I have to go to our laundry mat on site I find the "pacs" are easier to just put into a small sandwich bag instead of lugging a huge plastic jug of detergent around. On sale I think it's around $17.99 give or take for 120 count of the "pacs" which is roughly .15 a load.
Oxiclean-- This is another product I bought at Costco in the bulk size box. It was another item I picked up on sale during one of their sale events. I've learned that oxiclean is good to add in with my husband's very dirty clothes. It works great as a furniture cleaner, rug cleaner and carpet cleaner! I simply store what I'm not using in a hefty storage bag and refill my smaller oxiclean container as needed. It's one of those multi use cleaning products that I absolutely love having on hand! You can always buy a smaller version in retail stores which is how I ended up with the one container but after going through it very quickly a bulk product it became! Price point on average is probably around $10 bucks give or take for one of the large containers I bought on sale.
Trash Bags-- You probably didn't expect this one but I absolutely despise paying on average $8-9 bucks for a box that has 45count in it. So Home Depot is actually my trash bag place! I buy their brand of just the 13 gallon trash bags and I get well over 150 count for about $15.00. They have worked great and for the price I receive excellent quality out of their trash bags!
Lightbulbs-- Living full time you will burn bulbs and normally they go out when you least expect them too or you need them the most. Believe it or not rv light bulbs depending on what kind you need normally are not very expensive so if you come across the style that fits most of your light receptacles I would suggest picking up two boxes depending on the count that way you always have some on hand. It's been my luck in the past that when one bulb blows it's like someone knocking over pins as they all start to blow. Just make sure that you order the correct kind, if ever in doubt take an empty bulb to a RV dealership and they should be able to help you find what you need. Sometimes they have a serial number on the bulb and if you can read that, just Google that and it normally comes up with a picture that you can verify. I just bought a 10count box for less than $7.00 through Amazon but as I mentioned prices can vary depending on what kind of bulb you'll use and need.
Well I'm sure what you buy in bulk may be different and hey it could be the same! Just know folks that everything I've mentioned in this post is my opinion and I haven't been paid or sponsored in anyway to mention these items or the companies. Anyways I just like making that clear as I've always said if that changes I will 100% be honest about that but just wanted to share my thoughts.
