So last week the camper finally was moved from North Carolina to Texas. It was an incredible journey to travel through so many states and see things I never imagined I'd see. Let me enlighten you about the journey through the southern states.
I learned that Mississippi and Alabama are two states that don't participate in Mega Millions and Powerball or even scratch off tickets. I thought all of them did but I was proven wrong. Alabama has some incredible scenery. I went over several bridges that had small lakes or rivers beneath them. I took a small three minute video of one of the bridges I crossed as it reminds me of the bridges you take in North Carolina going to Cape Hatteras. I will work on uploading the video within this blog soon.
I must say that all the snow and rain the east coast has been hit with these past few months has really made the grass so beautifully green. It looks like something you see painted in a picture and it's quite refreshing honestly.
Now, Louisiana is another story. The roads are beyond horrible and that's putting it mildly. I guess with all the salt and hurricane's that hit the Gulf Coast it really puts a hurting on the pavement. I can only imagine how much money people spend to have their tires replaced and alignments done.
I'd have to say that Georgia was definitely my favorite to travel through especially since it was at night time when most of the "busy" traffic was pushed aside to bed. Atlanta, Georgia is a beautiful city to visit. They definitely represent the peach in many different ways especially on big buildings. When driving at night, you see these beautiful orangish color 3-D balls and once you get a bit closer you are able to see it's actually a peach. Not only that but the city is booming with big business everywhere you look. Some of the big businesses have lights done around the top and down the side that just lights up the night as if you were visiting Vegas.
Now I do have a small collection which after this last road trip became a little bit bigger. I've been collecting shot glasses and spoons from each state I visit. Maybe one day I'll be able to pass them down to my future children. I believe in the small things and it's just something cool to show people or to make memories by.
I drove roughly 1,200 miles and about 18 hours. Me and my husband are huge Harley Davidson fans so we stopped at some of the dealerships along the way and picked up the poker chip to add to our collection as well.
God's natural beauty is irreplaceable and breath taking. What we as mankind can create, God can destroy in a matter of seconds. It was a road trip that made me appreciate so much in life. I saw first hand how economies truly varied in different states and counties. Sometimes we all need to take a look around us to see the clear and real picture.
On a final note, I will add some photo's and hopefully the video.
