Well a few weeks back I did a blog on "Bye Bye Couch" and now it's time for part 2 of the saga. We removed the couch and of course during Christmas we used part of the space for setting up our Christmas tree. Well now that the holidays are over it's time to start prepping for our new arrival whose supposed to be coming in MARCH!
So, I'm going to break it down on basically what we bought and show you that having kids while full timing is possible and doable! It was a lot of worry and fear for the longest time that it wouldn't work and the more research I done the easier things got.
First off was the crib... Regular sized cribs will work but it really won't allow for any other furniture to be placed in the slide. I didn't want the area to be so compacted that it drove me crazy if that makes sense. So I shopped around and found the perfect crib. A store here in Texas known as "Buy Buy Baby" has a Child Craft London Euro 2-in-1 Mini Crib in White with dimensions of 28.5"D x 41 3/8"W x 34 5/8"H assembled. Believe it or not, it fits perfectly!
Secondly, we had storage cabinets above the couch that we were already using for storing baby items. While we will continue to use the cabinets we also bought a 9 cubicle bookcase and bought a few fabric bins that we will use for storing baby clothes and other baby items.
Thirdly, we have additional space underneath the crib to store items such as the baby's play mat along with bouncer as they both fold down for easy storage!
For now this is where we stand with things. It is still a work in progress but I wanted to share this much with you to show how amazing things were coming along. I am really pleased that we are able to make it work and of course with determination anything can be done!
I will continue to update this saga as more things are completed and once it is all organized to my liking you'll be able to see everything completely set up. I've got some washing to do and of course curtains to make so it's still a work in progress but every day I am making head way on it!
So for now, I hope you enjoy my work in progress nursery!
Till Next Time ....
